Kudankulam stalemate

Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project is one of the much respected and expected power project for the down south people of India.  There have been more safety assurance given by DAE and other agency. Despite that the fear in the minds of the locals there is unfounded. That is because,
[1] No local is given any job or benefited directly by the Project.
[2] Apart from safety assurance DAE has never come forward to answer the woes of the locals.
[3] Nuclear scientists from different ethnic group explained the safety measures in English and DAE does not initiate any action to thwart the situation in Tamil language.
[4] District Administration has less expertise or NO experience to handle such a volatile  situation scientifically

         In  this juncture, it is the need of the hour that locals must be involved in plant administration just by

• OFFERING administrative level .jobs, OFFERING jobs for skilled / semiskilled / and unskilled labors of the native place thus involving locals in the daily activity of Plant.
• Offering cooked food on concession basis to the locals living around the Plant at par with DAE employees.
• More social oriented activities by DAE.
• District Administration must ensure special privileges for the locals on priority basis.
