2010 RAILWAY BUDGET

Indian Railway budget 2010 is in the corners. We Tamilians must insist  the speed up of the  following  Projects.

               [1] Most urgent need is completion of BG conversion between Virudunagar and Manamadurai.

1.  This will facilitate additional train from down south to Chennai by passing Madurai and Dindigul.
2. Dindigul will be de congested
3. Day time train traffic between Kanyakumari and Chennai via Virudunagar, Manamadurai, Karaikudi,Trichy will be beneficial

             [2] Introduction of super fast to run between Chennai and Kanyakumari via Trichy, Karaikudi,   Manamadurai, Virudunagar,

1. This will help to reduce surge in passenger as well as goods traffic in this region.
2. Route clearance will be easier compare to DGL section.

            [3] Conversion of Madurai-Bodinayakanur rail link into BG.

• Exploring the possibility of introducing the direct rail connectivity between Theni and Dindugul
• Speedy conversion of Dindugul-Palani-Pollahchi route.

          [4] Introduction of MRTS in Coimbatore and Madurai

• To run between CBE and Mettupalayam
• To run between Vadipatti-Madurai-Tirumangalam & MDU-Manamadurai

         [5] Re scheduling EMU operation in Tambaram-Chennai Beach-Avadi route

1. Regular locals and peak hour return locals to run between St.Thomas Mount and Avadi / Beach
2. Peak hour return to run between Chengelpet and Mambalam
3. Regular local to be operated between STM and Thiruvallur
