It is evident from the imagery that first cloud mass has entered coramandal coast i.e Kodiyakarai to Cuddalore. The main core is some 550km away.  As the 200hPa ridge is running above 14 Deg N latitude the cloud mass (as of now) will move due west and hit TN coast only
