One of the supports of the protesters approached me and "enlighten" me in a threatening tone that
- Kalpakkam is NOT at all producing electricity nor feeding it to TNEB. As such there is no threat for the human beings living in Chennai.
- that KNPP will also stop functioning soon after commissioning. [ at par with Kalpakkam (?)]
- that former President Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam is a nuclear man and does NOT know about problems attached with society
- that the protesters will choose a man who will ultimately sort the problems and recommend Government to close down the KNPP facility.
- that their solidarity was proved in sending TATA out from Sattankulam and near by area.
- that they crippled the thermal power facility that was about to come at Udangudi
- that once upon a time their coastal hamlets were considered as safe harbor for English/Dutch /French sailors and missioners. Thus Christianity out spread in coastal hamlets.
- Let other visionary people from among different Christian Missionaries may come forward to address the people.
- Let the elected local body people (who support KNPP cause) pass resolutions in the council meetings.
- Let the local business people organise meetings to allay fears among the minds of the locals.
- Let the Navy people at Viyanarayanam march in Kudankulam
- Let a committee be formed comprising protesters, nuclear scientist, weather experts, local and so on so forth to monitor the situation of the KNPP safety on real time basis and inform the status to general public every now and then.
- Let the concessions enjoyed by KNPP employees be extended immediately to locals.
- Inform that electricity will be FREE for domestic consumption.
- Commercial and industrial consumption will be at lower tariff.
- Establish at once Community Kitchen throughout the sterile zone and start supplying cooked foods at very concessional rate [at par with DAE or military concession]
- First declare these welfare measures to instil confidence in the minds of the people
