Recent rains in TN

There has been rainfall in the northern coastal districts of Tamilnadu especially in Coramendal coast[i.e above and along 10 Degree North Latitude]. This may beattributed to the fact that the Bay and south Chinasea was [and now too is] active. The ITCZ has gonebeyond equator [close to 5 Deg South.] However theinvested area in south China sea generated moistureand the clouds were taken along by the prevailingEasterly winds. A feeble trough was generated in eastwest direction, from Philippines to East Indian coastclose to 10 DEG North latitude and the trough wasoscillating north to south thus bringing rainfall tonorth Tamilnadu cost few days ago and parts of southTamilnadu yesterday [05012008]. The tendency of thetrough to get aligned with ITCZ may be noticed. Thisis what COLA has suggested R/F for fourth of Jan 2008.That became true. Similarly when the continental drycold wind from NWly direction prevails and enters thesouthern region the entire path of the sinking wind
